Sewage collection and treatment

Sewage collection and treatment has been employed in many countries that are developed and also few developing in their move to ensure protection of the health of the public and further prevention of diseases. The construction of a sewer system can one of the most significant things in order to collect waste water than releasing the same into the river systems untreated. Many countries and nations especially in the developing countries have had to release the sewage directly into the rivers. Such an action has a great danger to lives of the aquatic animals that survive within such an environment and this is equally dangerous to the whole ecosystem. It an environmentally unsafe move to deposit the sewer into such places.
Sewer collection and treatment is a long procedure that is incumbent with a number of procedures. Under collection, it is done through the force of gravity where water from households are conveyed to a sewage collection and treatment plant. There are areas that are lowlands and the force of gravity cannot be effective in such areas. The sewage is therefore conveyed through the vacuum system. The system uses different atmospheric pressure t move the liquid to the treatment facility. Vacuum system is considered more cost effective than even other systems of collection from the households.
On the other hand, treatment undergoes a process too. After the sewage has been collected, it has to undergo treatment before it is released into the water system of the rivers. It is a state and federal rule that the water that has been collected be treated and then after fully satisfying the conditions it can be released into the system of rivers. The treatment process mainly has three steps, the primary, secondary and the tertiary treatment. Through the processes the solids, dust and many other materials are removed from the system to make the water safe for reuse.
