HOW POOL NOODLES CAN BE USED TO SUIT NUMEROUS APPLICATIONS

Pool noodles are a very common feature in most swimming pools. They are most common in children swimming pools and have a wide variety of uses. For those who do not have a clue of what they are, they can be simply defined as cylindrical pieces of polyethylene foams. They are able to float on water without absorbing it. Some people refer to them as water logs due to their floating nature while others refer to them as woggles. In most cases, they are used for water games and swimming purposes. However, there are other numerous uses of water logs in home and office applications.
In most swimming pools, the pool noodles are used to mark racing tracks on the surface of water. In such cases, a series of noodles are connected through their center holes using a connector such as a rope. The rope is then fixed to the swimming pool ends hence demarcating the swimming track for each swimmer. In other cases, children use them as weapons to play water games. The fact that they are light and flexible means that they can be used to play without causing injuries. The children can also use them to form interesting shapes by running connectors through their centers.
There are numerous sizes and styles of pool noodles found in the market. Some are long and cylindrical in shape while others are small and circular in shape. Some have through holes where connectors can be passed while others are simply blocks supported by a special type of connectors. The connectors in such a case are used to encase the ends of two noodles so as to create simple shapes. In the other case where water logs are connected through their central holes, an erector set is drilled through the center holes and is able to hold many pieces at a go.
They say innovation is the mother of invention. This perfectly applies to pool noodles and their applications. People have come up with interesting applications where they modify simple water logs into complex structures used for various applications. Some people use them to make noodle chairs that are able to float on water while others use them to make food and drink containers that can float on water. Kids use them to make interesting toy designs by connecting numerous pieces using suitable connectors. The fact that water logs are flexible, compressible and pliable means that they can be manipulated into thousands of designs to suit numerous applications.
