Prolong the Life of Your Air Compressor through Industrial Air Compressor Service

An industrial air compressor is a significant investment which requires a great deal of care and regular maintenance to ensure that it works properly. There are different types and models of air compressors but basic maintenance work required is generally the same. Many industrial facilities have their in-house maintenance staff to see to the regular maintenance of the air compressor; however there are also companies providing industrial air compressor service to ensure its continuous performance. Professional technicians who provide industrial air compressor service will check for any malfunctions and address them whether some parts will need replacement.
Maintenance procedures undertaken by industrial air compressor service
-        Routine checks will be performed on all the system’s aspects.
-        Any components that are malfunctioning will be checked whether they require repair or replacement. Even with their extensive experience on handing repairs, industrial air compressor service will inform you if there are parts and components that need replacement.
-        Industrial air compressors that have been integrated with new technology like microprocessors or computer control will help monitor the unit and indicate when maintenance is due.
-        Operating temperatures, pressure settings and oil levels are very important and will be monitored on a regular basis.
Common issues with the industrial air compressor and how they can be fixed
No matter how durable the air compressor, there will be instances when you will require industrial air compressor service particularly if the problem is beyond the capabilities of your in-house maintenance staff. Due to continuous use, the air compressor will eventually require repairs to recover its normal functions and performance which means that you will need those with the expertise on industrial air compressor service and repairs. On the other hand, there are common problems that are not serious enough and can be handled through standard troubleshooting.
Electrical system malfunctions – which means that the air compressor may not immediately turn on. The first step to undertake is to check whether it is correctly plugged or wired in. if it is, take a look at the red or black reset button located at the back of the motor housing and press it. If the compressor does not respond, try connecting a different electrical device on the outlet. If the device works, your air compressor has some internal electrical problems which require industrial air compressor service.
Excessive air pressure – there are instances when the air compressor does not start immediately because the pressure is not low enough for the engine to engage. Look for the round valve that typically has that metal ring or short chain through it which is called the stop valve. Pull at the stop valve to release excess pressure. If the engine starts, you might need to make a slight upward adjustment on the pressure regulator for consistent future starts.
Oil leaks – if there is smoke or fire, turn off the compressor and disconnect it from the power supply. After the engine cools, check the oil whether it is clean or if it is the right oil for the motor, whether the oil level is correct or it is due for change oil. If oil is leaking, tighten the gaskets or replace them.
